View Full Version : ITE controller card problem with 1.45 and 1.47

Hi,

Something odd has been happening since I updated from 1.43.

I have 6 drives in my PC, 4 of which are connected to an ITE 'ATAPI' controller card (IT8211). The others are on the 975 chipset IDE controller. The ITE ones have all lost the ability to report certain 'features' - namely support for DVD-R media - although other weird things might also be happening, I've not looked too closely. The Intel ones still work fine.

I've snooped on the commands and for some odd reason the 'GET CONFIG' command is failing with ASC 0x31, ASCQ 0x00 / 0x01. Clearly that's not supposed to happen!

If I go back to 1.43, everything works just fine again.

Any clues as to why this might be happening? Thanks :)

Please uninstall/disable SPTD layer, and paste commands again.
Do you have media inserted on other drives on Intel controller?

Ok, disabled via the service registry key...

No, no discs in any of the drives. I made sure they were all 'equal' before I started :)

Basically what this means is that I go from (SPTD enabled):

Do you use some special ITE vendor driver?

LIGHTNING UK!

Ok, I've emailed them. :)

It's just a normal ITE driver. v1.3.2.8.

Came as a file called 8211Drv_095003-01.zip
