Dear SPTD users!

To address issues reported in previous versions Duplex Secure provided a new release: SPTD official version 1.50.

We have offered for downloads two files also at http://disc-tools.com/download/sptd/

Important note:
For users using YASU this update has critical status: if you are using YASU in combination with popular virtual drive programs (e.g. DAEMON Tools) your atapi.sys file may be deleted from system! Please update to SPTD 1.49 to workaround this issue!

Issues addressed:
- Fixed critical issue with YASU application
- Fixed minor issues with some devices (including iteatapi controller)

[quote=dilan]Dear SPTD users!

To address issues reported in previous versions Duplex Secure provided a new release: SPTD official version 1.50....
------------------------------------------------

I have an error message when trying to install this last version of SPTD in its 64 bits format, on my new Windows XP 64 bits PC, after normal download of the file, and normal launch of the install program. I tried several times with the same error that brakes the installation of the driver, so nothing is installed. Then I stopped my antivirus (Avast Home edition). No effect.

This software does never install : I had no other version installed before, so intaller only proposes me to "install" and each time it fails. Then since I don't have SPTD installed Daemon Tools 64 bits does not want to install... So I'm Locked.

I found in some forums a reference to a Kernel debugger that needs to be desactivated, but there is no explanation on how to do that, plus not sure same problem in my Win XP 64, as they reference old versions of everything.

Any idea why it does not want to install and aways breaks on same error message ?

The only error I did for sure, is I tried to install Daemon Tools 64 bits before installing this 64 bits SPTD driver. Then since Daemon was not installed properly (not showing in add/remore programs), so to cancell that wrong install I could only delete the Daemon Tools folder in Program Files (may have to clean up a few things too ?).

I've also read on some forums that some registries could be in cause. But when I downloaded the tool suggested to clean the registries, it seamed to work on 64 bits XP and found a number of things to correct. But that entirely killed my Win 64 OS and when I rebooted as advized to, I could not, not even in protected mode. To restart I had to do it on last stable level.

So I'm more carefull with these registries cleaning tools now. Especially when they do not mention if 64 bits XP is supported or not.

Another forum suggested to use Autorun For Windows. But although put on a Microsoft WEB page for download, and claimed 64 bits compatibe there, it seams to be another registries tool. So I did not try it yet.

I can't believe Daemon Tool and SPDT both did a 64 bits version for XP 64 users like me, and neither can be installed on my new Win XP 64 PC that otherwise works perfectly well.

Who can help me ?

this helped me:

delete or keys and files concerning SPTD, then start msconfig and switch on diagnostic startup... then reboot and install SPTD... after installation reboot... after reboot SPTD should be installed and you can switch back on normal or selective startup...
