I'm not able to get it to install properly but its almost certainly due to all the different things I tried before to make the earlier versions work.

I will have to retrace my steps (mostly in the registry as I cant remember the keys) to try and get it working properly

mmm ive encountered a very strange issue.

I know is preliminar the support, so is really easy to screw things up playing with this...

But a severe issue ive found is, if the sptd is installed when i do an update install(build update) it will be completely screw up the driver. DT was installed and now it says that it has not sptd installed, to i went to reinstall 1.58, when i first launched it told me it cant get the current status of the driver, i recomend me to disabled it and restart (i answer it yes), after a restart, it told me that i have no sptd installed, so i installed it again, but im getting the same loop that it was in the 1.56 ones, install, reboot, no driver installed, etc forever, so basicly, i cant reinstall 1.58 and the last version of DT pro hangs at unistall.

Not a SPTD bug; Windows upgrade killed it and it is known a Windows upgrade can cause such things.

Remove SPTD manually:

Then delete the installation folders of Daemon Tools, and ensure you reboot before re-installation.

Well, the only issue i have found with windows 7 is that Tages Protection is not working:

X3:TC on Windows 7:
-Original DVD inserted: OK
-Tages-Image mounted on DP pro or DT lite with SPTD 1.58: Insert Original Disc!

X3:TC on Vista:
-Original DVD inserted: OK
-Tages-Image mounted on DP pro or DT lite with SPTD 1.56: OK

Both on 32/64 bits.

I need to try with 1.58 on Vista but... i dont want to screw up anything.

Start SPTDinst-v158-x64.exe, Click Install, Reboot and... not installed
sptd.sys no in system32/drivers directory
Secondary start SPTDinst-v158-x64.exe suggests again Install :(

Removal Procedure:
Delete SPTD.SYS from the C:\Windows\System32\Drivers folder.
Reboot.
Delete SPTD9885.SYS or the driver with similar name from the C:\Windows\System32\Drivers folder.
Use regedit.
Go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\SPTD.
Right click and choose "Permissions" in the popup menu.
Change the rights for Adminitrator group to Full access.
Delete SPTD subkey or the whole SPTD key.
Do the same for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\R oot\LEGACY_SPTD, I was not able to delete LEGACY_SPTD or change it's permissions still running as admin but SPTD installed succesfully after doing everything till point 5 without completing the fifth one.

When I instal SPTD on my Windows 7 x64 build 7201, is written that the driver is not compatible with system. You could fix it?
