SPTD Causes Instant Reset If Aborted in Safe Mode

I have SPTD 1.39 installed. XP Pro, Sp2. I recently needed to go into safe mode. After selecting "safe mode" from the F8 windows boot screen, I was given the option to abort loading the SPTD driver by pressing Esc. Normally I press escape to minimize any chance for problems.

I never had a problem doing this with prior versions of SPTD. With 1.39, when I pressed Esc, my machine instantly reset itself. I tried two more times with the same result. Letting SPTD load for safe mode produced no problems.

Can anyone else replicate this behavior?
