  • System shuts down loading XP

My system shuts down before finishing to load XP. On trying safe mode I get an option to ignore loading sptd.sys by pressing escape. Doing that didn't help and the system shut down. Over the past several days I have been able to boot completely only once but then it shut down again randomely as soon as I logged in.

I have an XP SP2 system with Daemon Tools.
    I have SPTD version 1.52

I have seen threads that talk about going into the registry and cleaning up, but for me that is not an option because the computer doesn't even boot.

Is there any solution to this issue apart from reformatting the disk?

Boot into recovery console by using your Windows cd, select the Windows installation, enter the Administrator password, then execute "disable sptd" - this disables SPTD service in registry -, then enter exit to reboot.
Do you have any minidump available (in Windows\Minidump directory)? Send newest file to our support@duplexsecure.com.
