  • Alcohol doesn't load drivers

I use Alcohol 120% to create virtual drives, and of courses, it requires SPTD but this version of SPTD has many errors. When I start Alcohol, it said: "Loading Alcohol device drivers failed! Emulation options and native driver interface of Alcohol 120% will not be available!". Why did it happen like that? Please help me. Thanks.

Un-install Alcohol, if it fails, just delete the installation directory. Then open registry editor (exectue regedit), go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\sptd and change Start value to 4 (i.e. disabled), then reboot. After reboot open registry editor again, right-click on sptd/cfg key, select Permissions, and enable all permissions of cfg key, then delete entire sptd key, and reboot again. Then re-install SPTD layer, and after required reboot re-install Alcohol.

Thank you so much but I've tried this many times. I use 2 antivirus programs: CMC InfoSec and avast!. Do they cause all the problems? Please tell me a solution. Thanks.

Did you reboot before re-installation? This is important!
Why do you use 2 anti-virus progs? Most likely they interfere. Do you have any SPTD errors in systm eventlog (execute eventvwr.msc)? If there is any, please post it incl. all error bytes (see Details tab).
Try to remove e.g. CMC InfoSec, there are no known issues with avast.

            That's just safe mode information.
            Please download SPTD stand-alone installer:
            www.duplexsecure.com/downloads
Execute it - does it detect SPTD installation?

I've known the problems. That was my antivirus programs. I've used avast!, but when I uninstall it, Alcohol work normally. Then, I installed AVG, but now the problem comes again. The Alcohol driver isn't loaded. Please help me how to solve the problem between my antivirus program and Alcohol! Is there any antivirus that does not conflict with Alcohol? Thanks so much.

Did you remove CMC InfoSec as well? I still think there's something interfering if you use more than one security software.
Avira Antivir should work ok, avast shouldn't have any problems either, so it's weird there's a problem on your system.

I've uninstalled CMC InfoSec, but the problems still happens. So I think AVG cause the problems. Do you have any solutions to the problem that SPTD conflict with antivirus programs?

If AV modifies code in memory (most likely due to injection), SPTD will most likely not working.

Could you please tell exact version and product names of AVG and Avast, thank you.
I guess you are on Windows 7. If so x86 or x64?
