  • STOP 0x0000007E with latest SPTD & (virtual) WinXP SP3

    Hello!

I've installed a fresh WinXP with integrated SP3 and most Patches including Feb 2011 in Virtual PC 2007 SP1.

After installing the latest version (1.76) of SPTD and rebooting I instantly get this BSOD after BIOS POST.

Is this a known issue? I dare not try it on my real XP machine.

    Thanks in advance!

There is no known issue with v1.76 and XP SP3 incl. all updates.

      Interesting detail:

If I install Alcolol 52% with the included v1.74 I can boot, but it crashes 1-2 min. after the logon screen appears with the same BSOD. Seems as if the v1.74 service starts later than the v1.76 service.

With Alcohol I never had problems. Maybe there is a conflict with the simulated hardware of VPC 2007?

Please attach latest minidump file (c:\windows\minidump).

Sorry, but how can I attach the dumpfile in a post? It didn't work with a private message, which I find more convenient, either. I do not have any webspace at hand.

You may try SPTD 1.77, maybe the few fixes are related to BSOD.
