  • no virtual drive after installation

i've installed SPTD without errors, but after reboot there is no virtual drive and no error messages. i've installed and deinstalled SPTD at least 20 times but without success. i try it in safe mode i try also to remove all sptd values in the registry before installation, but nothing helps. can somebody help me please. i tried SPTD 1.25 and 1.35.
i have a medion notebook with Pentium IV 2.6 GHz, 512MB RAM with XP Prof and SP2 and all updates up to date. Antivir is F-Prot.

    regards

SPTD layer does not create virtual devices, it's an access layer similar to Adaptec ASPI or Microsoft SPTI.
To create virtual drives you must install e.g. Daemon Tools.

      hello digger,

thank you for the fast answer. this means I'm not having problems with SPTD. but I have a Problem with DT. when I install and try to run DT my system freez and I only can press the power off button. but this is maybe the wrong forum. I'll try it in the DT-forum. I'll try later to install Alcohol to see if it can run normaly. Thank you for your help.

        its me again

I tried now Alocohol 120 but it freez the system too after runing (like Daemon Tools). It freez on the initialize screen on

Applying the Alcohol virtual devices settings.
        Please wait...

There is no virtual device after installing Alcohol or Daemon Tools. And I can't set a new one because the tools are freezing after starting them.

I don't know if this is a SPTD problem or a Applpication Error on DT and Alcohol.

I tried also a new (clean) installation of Win XP Professional with and without SP2 but this don't helped too.

I have no idea what could it be. Maybe hardware or driver incompatibility?

        regards
